Among all the pieces I turn, lidded vessels seem to be the most popular, judging by how
well they sell. This one is the latest.
More simple than most with fewer varieties of wood, it is made of two pieces of cherry separated by a segmented ring of walnut. The upper piece of cherry is inlaid with walnut. Walnut was also used for the base and lid with finial. The vessel has four coats of Waterlox (original - median sheen), the first of which was wet-sanded in at 600 grit, and is 6" in diameter by 7" high. |
