"The Most Highly Detailed and Illustrated Plans I've Seen"
Based on viewer requests for information on segmented turning in general and peppermills in particular, we have created a comprehensive and heavily detailed set of instructions on segmented woodturning using a peppermill (and accompanying saltshaker) as a project.
These plans were designed for those woodturners who are new to segmented woodturning and or making peppermills - the document covers both in great detail- but do have some experience with spindle turning. To view a sample page, go to Sample Page.
Now available for purchase in PDF format, this document is 38 pages long and contains almost 60 pictures and illustrations. It defines not only the processes and tools involved in segmented turning, but also instructs the reader, using technical drawings and photo illustrations, in the creation of a specific project: A peppermill and accompanying saltshaker. We have also taken great care to document many of the tips and tricks of such a project.
The Document Format: The document is in (Adobe Acrobat 5.0 or greater) PDF format and requires an Acrobat Reader, which can be obtained free from Adobe Acrobat.
Document Versioning: Our documents and plans, like our web site, are not static and undergo regular improvement updates. These updates are classified by major and minor revision (Rev) levels. Purchasers will always get minor rev changes free of charge. The document is currently at Rev 1.1 at 972 KB (size).
